Derbe Mucke die mega Spaß macht gefällig? Wie wäre es da mit den Brutal Death Metal/Grindviolence Überfliegern ESCUELA GRIND aus US und A? Die vier Grindcore Hitzköpfe aus Pittsfield, Massachusetts bieten auf ihrem, mittlerweile dritten full-length Extremwerk "Dreams On Algorithms" mächtige Stampf- und Schredder-Parts, fetzig galoppierende Rhythmen sowie brachiale Doublebass-Attacken noch und nöcher. Für viele Puristen, also sogenannte "true" Extrem Metal Fanatiker, zwar ein Graus (wobei ich mich immer noch frage, warum), für mich hingegen ein willkommenes und abwechslungsreiches Kreischsägeblatt, mit vielen derben Twists in Power und Pace. Es ist also einen guten Tacken vielfältiger geworden und alles andere als stupides Scheuklappen-Grindcore-Gebolze. Von enorm pushendem Midtempo-Gestampfe mit fettem Griffbrett-Geschranze, über D-Beat Mosh-Parts, bis hin zu wilden, dissonanten, beinahe chaotischen Blastbeat- und Crossrhythmik-Abfolgen, wird hier nahezu jede Bandbreite bedient.
2016 in Pittsfield gegründet, hört man der US-Grind Schule ESCUELA GRIND den Spaß an der Mucke überdeutlich an. Das infernale Viergespann um Katerina Economou agiert wie aus einem Guss und zockt groovy as fuckin` hell! Mit einer nicht von der Hand zu weisenden, anarchistischen Punk Attitüde ausgestattet, wird die exzellente, brutale und wuchtige Produktion immer wieder von Jesse Fuentes exzessivem Drumming angetrieben. Neben dem vordergründigen und regelrecht wulstigen Bassspiel von Justin Altamirano, flechtet Kris Morash permanent interessante Gitarrenläufe zwischen die derben Hardcore-Rhythmen. Dazu brüllt das zierlich wirkende Powerbündel Katerina Economou dem Auditorium xier variable Angry Rage Vocals voller Masse, Wut und Aggressivität entgegen. Roh, kalt, unerbittlich, krank!
Das 30:10 Minuten ballernde Brutal Death Metal/Grindviolence Crossover "Dreams On Algorithms" ist stets experimentell gehalten, nimmt sich trotz aller Ernsthaftigkeit selbst gerne mal auf die Schippe und geht ab wie ein Zäpfchen. Besonders das düster und schwerfällig "Turbulence", mit seinen pumpenden Beats und dem massig-massiven Geschranze hat es mir angetan. Aber auch Tracks, wie "Scorpion", "Toothless", "Always Watching You" oder "Constant Passenger" (mit Sänger Vincent Bennett von der, ebenfalls aus Massachusetts stammenden Deathcore-Truppe THE ACACIA STRAIN), machen "Dreams On Algorithms" zu einem besonders knusprigen Happen US-amerikanischer Death-/Hardcore-/Grindcore-/Powerviolence-Kost! Eingefangen wurden die fetzig galoppierenden Rhythmen der zehn neuen Tracks von Schlagwerker Jesus Fuentes. Die Aufnahmen wurden von CONVERGE Gitarrist Kurt Ballou, in dessen GodCity Studio zu Salem, Massachusetts vorgenommen. Um den abschließenden tonalen Feinschliff kümmerte sich Nick Townsend (Dr. Dre, NAILS) im Townsend Mastering Studio. Die Spaßbarden ESCUELA GRIND aus New England haben hier ganze Arbeit geleistet und mit "Dreams On Algorithms" einen weiteren Meilenstein ihrer verheißungsvollen Karriere gelegt.

Would you like some rough music that's a lot of fun? How about the brutal death metal/grindviolence high-flyers ESCUELA GRIND from US and A? On their now third full-length extreme work "Dreams On Algorithms", the four grindcore hotheads from Pittsfield, Massachusetts offer powerful stomping and shredding parts, groovy galloping rhythms and brutal double bass attacks a more and more. For many purists, i.e. so-called "true" extreme metal fanatics, it's a horror (although I still wonder why), but for me it's a welcome and varied buzz saw blade, with lots of rough twists in power and pace. So it's become a lot more diverse and is anything but stupid blinkered grindcore violence. From enormously pushing mid-tempo stomp with fat fretboard fretwork, to D-beat mosh parts, to wild, dissonant, almost chaotic blast beat and cross rhythm sequences, almost every spectrum is served here.
Founded in Pittsfield in 2016, you can clearly hear the fun of music from the US grind school ESCUELA GRIND. The infernal foursome around Katerina Economou acts like a cast and plays groovy as fuckin' hell! Equipped with an undeniable anarchist punk attitude, the excellent, brutal and powerful production is repeatedly driven by Jesse Fuente's excessive drumming. In addition to Justin Altamirano's foreground and downright bulging bass playing, Kris Morash constantly weaves interesting guitar runs between the rough hardcore rhythms. In addition, the petite-looking powerhouse Katerina Economou roars them variable angry rage vocals full of mass, anger and aggressiveness at the auditorium. Raw, cold, relentless, sick!
The 30:10 minute blasting Brutal Death Metal/Grindviolence crossover "Dreams On Algorithms" is always experimental, despite its seriousness it likes to poke fun at itself and goes goes off like a suppository. I was particularly impressed by the dark and ponderous "Turbulence", with its pumping beats and solid-massive noise. But also tracks like "Scorpion", "Toothless", "Always Watching You" or "Constant Passenger" (with singer Vincent Bennett from the deathcore group THE ACACIA STRAIN, also from Massachusetts), make up "Dreams On Algorithms" a particularly crunchy morsel of American death/hardcore/grindcore/powerviolence fare! The groovy galloping rhythms of the ten new tracks were captured by drummer Jesus Fuentes. The recordings were made by CONVERGE guitarist Kurt Ballou in his GodCity Studio in Salem, Massachusetts. Nick Townsend (Dr. Dre, NAILS) took care of the final tonal polish in the Townsend Mastering Studio. The fun bards ESCUELA GRIND from New England have done a great job here and have set another milestone in their promising career with "Dreams On Algorithms".
